A Legacy of Excellence

Originally founded in 1963 by his father, Michael Smith has owned and operated SmithPro Commercial Painting since 1998, since the age of 28. He has worked at the company since he was 13. In that time, he worked everything from warehouse to truck driving, accounting, sales and every other aspect of the business.


After college he worked full time before eventually taking over and growing the business.


As a successful St. Louis business that continues to grow, Michael and his loyal team have no intention of slowing down. Quite the opposite. Proud of the company history and commitment to the community, SmithPro remains dedicated to the success of their clients and doing their part to keep St. Louis a world-class city.

At SmithPro we employ a staff of 35 full-time painters. Many have over 20 years of experience and have been with us for an average of 8 years.


That experience and professionalism is important because each painting project is Full Service. It’s this philosophy and holistic approach that has set us apart for more than half a century.

Our pride in a job well done and our commitment to our clients is why we always start with a consultation. By treating our customers as strategic partners, we can understand their needs and plan out a process that will accomplish their goals.
